The Crisis Support Worker will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in the Region of Peel to assist individuals in crisis due to severe mental illness. Responsibilities include triaging calls on the crisis line, conducting risk and safety assessments, performing mental status examinations, and providing support to clients in the community. The role also involves developing and implementing follow-up plans, which may include brief monitoring, referrals to community organizations, or coordination with existing support networks.

The Community Development Officer is responsible for providing culturally specific community outreach, education and navigational support to individuals and families who face multiple barriers to accessing health and social services in the Region of Peel. This role is responsible for fostering positive change within communities by identifying needs, engaging residents, and implementing strategies to improve the quality of life. In addition to community outreach and engagement, ambassadors will assist on the BAC Support Line.

The Community Health Ambassador serves as a trusted frontline representative responsible for promoting health equity, strengthening community connections, and improving access to culturally-responsive health information and services for Black, African, Caribbean, and underserved communities. This role leads community outreach, health education, awareness campaigns, and resource navigation by building trusted relationships with residents, community organizations, businesses, and faith-based institutions.

Roots Community Services (RootsCS) is collaborating with partners from the Region of Peel - Health Services (ROP - HS) and the Black, African and Caribbean (BAC) Community Health and Wellness Collaborative (BAC Collaborative) to co-design and implement a community assessment (CA) to explore and understand the current state and needs of BAC families in Peel. The scope of the CA is pregnancy, birth and early childhood up to four years of age.

The Senior Health Promotion & Research Officer will lead the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of community-based health promotion initiatives and applied research projects that advance equitable health outcomes for Black, African, Caribbean, and underserved communities. This role combines strategic program leadership, community engagement, data-informed planning, research coordination, partnership development, and policy advocacy to support the organization’s mission of addressing systemic barriers impacting community health and well-being.

The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide a high level of confidential administrative, operational and day-to-day support to the CEO, as well as support some functions related to the Board of Directors. The role involves handling communications in the executive office, assisting on projects, and liaising internally with staff and volunteers as well as externally with partner agencies. The Executive Assistant is expected to work with limited direction, executing a significant amount of judgment, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and discretion in all aspects of the role.

The Case Worker provides mobile, client-centered case management and short-term counselling to individuals experiencing housing instability, mental health challenges, and substance use concerns. This role supports clients in achieving housing stability, recovery, and community integration through coordinated and culturally responsive care.

The Counsellor, Gender-Based Violence reports to the Manager, Family Services and delivers services in partnership with the Safe Centre of Peel (SCoP). This role provides direct support to women and children in the Region of Peel who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, gender-based violence, including domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Brief Mental Health Counselor will provide time-limited counselling and treatment utilizing integrated therapeutic approaches to individuals presenting with mental health concerns. They will use evidence-based tools to monitor whether interventions are effectively supporting client wellness. They will provide brief service and will determine how to best support clients using a stepped care approach.
