Men
Uplifting Men's Voices
Many men, especially from Black, African and Caribbean communities, find it difficult to show or speak about their emotions or any condition that may make them seem less “macho”. Our men’s programs provide safe, supportive spaces for men to explore mental health, build coping strategies, strengthen relationships and connect with others in their community.
These programs support emotional well-being, encourage open dialogue, and promote healing through culturally-responsive and trauma-informed approaches.
Emotions in Balance
Emotions in Balance is a trauma-informed group program designed to support men in understanding, expressing and managing their emotions in healthy ways. Delivered in a culturally-sensitive and supportive group setting, the program focuses on emotional awareness, coping strategies and relationship-building.
Emotions in Balance offers:
- Guided group sessions that support emotional awareness
- Mindfulness and reflective practices that promote healing
- Emotional regulation skills and tools for healthier relationships
- A welcoming and supportive space for shared learning and growth
- This program is funded by the United Way of Greater Toronto

Black Men Speak Up
Black Men Speak Up is a monthly online forum that provides a brave space for BAC men, age 18 years and over, to speak freely and openly about their emotions, their struggles to cope with mental health issues, domestic abuse and other issues, as well as give space for those who have overcome challenges to offer hope and support. The program:
- Encourages men who are survivors of abuse to speak about the trauma and start to heal
- Provides a brave and non-judgemental space for men to speak about their emotions and discuss mental health issues
- Helps young men and adults to be a support for other men who need assistance
This program is funded by the United Way of Greater Toronto.
