Building strong communities for over 40 years

Build your skills, grow your ideas and connect with experienced mentors through Black Leaders of Tomorrow. This 12-week program supports Black youth ages 16 to 24 living in Peel Region as they explore entrepreneurship, financial literacy and business growth. Participants will learn about budgeting, investing, sales and marketing while connecting with experienced professionals and a network of Black entrepreneurs. Participants can also earn volunteer hours, strengthen their cultural identity and receive a $400 honorarium upon completion.

Share your experience and help inspire the next generation of Black entrepreneurs and leaders. Black Leaders of Tomorrow is a 12-week mentorship program connecting Black youth with experienced professionals who can support their personal and business growth. Mentors will share their knowledge, help participants develop their ideas and business skills, and take part in conversations and activities centred on Black identity, entrepreneurship and excellence. Adults 25 years and older are invited to apply and help build a stronger network of future Black leaders.

Join She Knows Money, a 6-week experience designed to help you build financial confidence, master the basics, and take control of your money. From September 24 to October 29, we’ll meet every Thursday virtually from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for practical financial education, open conversations, and easy-to-understand strategies that will help you better understand your finances, make informed decisions, and feel more confident managing your money in everyday life.

Join us for an evening of creativity, culture, and connection at Sip, Paint & Discover: Cultural Art & Storytelling Night on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Enjoy guided painting, cultural storytelling, shared learning, and light refreshments while exploring Truth and Reconciliation, cultural traditions, and creative expression in community.

Roots Community Services is seeking Peer Research Assistants and Community Advisory Board members from Black, African and Caribbean communities in Peel to help shape research on pregnancy, birth and early childhood experiences. Participants will be compensated for their time.

Join Roots Community Services on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bowlero Brampton for an afternoon of bowling, connection, and community impact. This year’s fundraiser supports our family and seniors programs, which provide culturally-responsive support, mental health services, and opportunities for Black, African, and Caribbean families and seniors to stay connected and engaged.

This recognition reflects the continued impact of our work alongside our Black, African, and Caribbean (BAC) communities.
