Roots Community Services has been providing programs and services for children, youth, women, seniors and families in the Region of Peel since 1985. At the heart of our organization is the desire to help clients lead healthy and productive lives. Through our programs and services, we create pathways to wellness that help empower and inspire clients to build on their strengths and find solutions to overcome the challenges they face.

Black Men Speak Up
When you think about wealth, what comes to mind? For this month’s Black Men Speak Up session, we’ll talk about “What It Means to Be Wealthy.” Join us for an open and honest conversation on Wednesday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. and the third Wednesday of every month.
Prosper: Steps to Financial Success
Join us for Prosper: Steps to Financial Success, a virtual financial literacy series designed to help you build confidence in managing your finances and planning for the future. Sessions take place Wednesdays, March 18 – April 22, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Fridays, March 20 – April 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be facilitated by Stacy Thomas, World System Builders (WSB). You will learn practical strategies for creating a personal budget, understanding credit and debt, and building long-term financial stability.
Socacize: Nutrition & Fitness for Healthy Living
Join us for Socacize: Nutrition & Fitness for Healthy Living on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Brampton City Hall. This interactive session blends practical nutrition education with guided movement set to vibrant soca rhythms. Led by Ayanna Lee Rivers, Founder of Socacize Fitness, participants will explore simple ways to build balanced nutrition habits, stay active, and support long-term wellness in a welcoming community space.
We Received the Mayor’s 2026 Black History Award
We are proud to share that we were selected as a recipient of the Mayor’s 2026 Black History Award during the City of Brampton’s Black History Month celebration. This recognition reflects the continued impact of our work alongside our Black, African, and Caribbean (BAC) communities. We remain grateful to our staff, partners, volunteers, and community members whose commitment strengthens and uplifts our communities.
PCK Scholarship Program
RootsCS is proud to partner with PCK Intellectual Property to support Black, African, Caribbean and Indigenous youth in their post-secondary journey. This empowering scholarship promotes awareness of the intellectual property system and its impact on racialized communities.
Applications are open until March 31, 2026.
