We believe that during their formative years, children depend on the care and support of parents, family members and other caring adults within their communities.
Arts, Literacy & Tutoring (ALT) Club
Our after-school program, Arts, Literacy & Tutoring (ALT) Club, provides a safe and enriching environment to help students reach their required grade levels, particularly in math, English and French. It also allows participants to express themselves and increase their confidence through various art, literacy, STEM and social activities.

Offers individual tutoring in subjects children struggle within school

A safe environment to upgrade academic knowledge and social skills

We partner with the Black Youth School Success Initiative and schools to tutor students in academic subjects, and inspire them through life, cultural and social skills training

Summer Camp
In a fun-filled environment, this program provides the opportunity for children and youth to develop personal and leadership skills, build confidence and improve their overall well-being. Through interaction, teamwork, and respect for self and others, the program helps children broaden their horizons and appreciate their environment.

Student and Family Advocate Initiative
Student and Family Advocates support Black students and their families as they navigate the education system. This initiative addresses disparities in educational outcomes due to systemic and structural barriers. Working from anti-Black racism, anti-oppression and cultural-safety lenses, the program promotes responsive education systems, positive student outcomes and increased student belonging.
- Deliver services in the Region of Peel for students ages 6-18 and in the Region of Halton for students ages 6-23
- Create a safe space for Black students and their families' voices to be heard
- Provide culturally-responsive support to help Black students and their families develop solutions to meet their needs
- Develop and offer wrap-around services to students identified to be at risk of not completing high school and those involved with child welfare and the justice system
- Provide leadership, advice, and support to schools on anti-Black racism and systemic discrimination
